Today and Yesterday

Already been out for a five-miler today.  Heading to the Pirates game in a bit -- more on that later.

In case you missed it ...

Thomas Friedman provided sage political advice.

Maureen Dowd becomes just slightly less shrill in her punditry regarding the Catholic Church.  It's worth a read and reflection: seriously.  There are some comments within yesterday's column that I find categorically untrue, but that isn't a reason not to read and reflect.

And from today's Times, Nick Kristoff is simply wonderful in that heartbreaking sort of way.  He makes me wonder about long-term missionary work.  Seriously.
