In Your Charity

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Alexander Grant.

Via the Public Affairs Office of Boston College:

March 8, 2011 - The University mourns the passing of Alexander Grant, a sophomore economics major from Briarcliff, N.Y., who - after having been missing since early Sunday morning following a visit with friends at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - was found dead this morning by the Saratoga Springs Fire Department.

Police accounts suggest that he was separated from his friends and became lost in the midst of a snow storm. A search crew consisting of Saratoga Springs City Firefighters and New York State Forest Rangers located his submerged body today in Putnam Creek within three-tenths of a mile from where he was last seen.

Grant, a member of the College of Arts & Sciences Honors Program, was a gifted and popular student in his class.

President William P. Leahy, S.J., spoke with Alexander's mother today and offered condolences on behalf of Boston College. Fr. Leahy asks that the University community pray for Alexander and his family at this most difficult time.

Information on services will be provided as it becomes available.
