11 March 2011

For the last two nights, as part of my Lenten observance, I've turned off my computer at 9:00 pm.  In the ensuing time, I journaled, cleaned my room and office, prayed night prayer, reflected upon the readings for the next day and caught up on some homework.  I don't write this brag, I just write this to note that I hadn't been doing these things as often, as prayerfully or with as much care as I should have done so previously.

Yes, the beauty of Lent and its quiet solicitude.  What a gift Mother Church gives us: a time for reflection and contemplation.
