Wise Words (in Poor Translation)

Before I left San Salvador, one of the Central American postulants gave me a note which included a quote from former Minister General Pascual Rywalski in 1970.

(Abel passed it along to me in Spanish, so excuse the awkward translation.)

Do not talk about prayer, pray.
Do not talk about poverty, demonstrate it with your works.
Do not have discussions about the Franciscan fraternity, act fraternally.
Do not propagate pastoral theories; realize pastoral works like Saint Charles Borremeo, like Lawrence of Brindisi, like the innumerable apostles of our order.
