Lonergan for the Win (QOTD)

In view of this, one may easily conclude that dogmas are especially pertinent to religion because they render religious a differentiated consciousness that is already intellectually developed or to be developed.  For such consciousness reflects upon and makes judgments about religion as about other things, judgments that influence the direction of one's entire life; hence, those who would want the intellect to have nothing to do with religion are actually furthering the cause of secularism rather than that of true religion.

The Triune God: Doctrines
