The Good Word: Rejoice, O Hearts That Seek the Lord (Ps. 105)

Rejoice, O Hearts That Seek the Lord.

The response to the psalm today.

Are we, then, to take joy within the actual process of seeking and searching for the Lord?

If we are (and I hope so), then there is much to be joyful at this point and time in Christianity, in Catholicism, as we seek ever again to seek the Lord and His holy activity (as Francis might say).

Yet at the same time, we must also be ever mindful of yesterday's Gospel: "Stop holding onto me."

Seek the Lord and rejoice: yes.
Grasp onto what we believe to be the Lord: The Lord Himself says not.

An Easter paradox, indeed.
